Qualifications:
Robert is one of a very few accountants to hold professional accounting qualifications in both the US and the UK. He started his formal accounting training in 1985 in the UK, at the prestigious Emile Woolf College of Accountancy in London, where he prepared for and passed the UK certified public accounting exam (FCCA). He also sat the US CPA exams in Georgia and was licensed to practice public accounting by the Georgia State Board of Accountancy in 1997. In addition to his accounting qualifications, Robert holds an MBA from the Heriot Watt University Scotland UK (1996) and in 2004 earned the coveted life insurance management designation FLMI (with Distinction). The FLMI designation is the world standard for life insurance management training issued by the internationally recognized Life Office Management Association (LOMA) of Atlanta Georgia.

Experience:
Robert is a seasoned financial professional with international work experience in the Caribbean and the US. He began his career in public accounting in 1979 at Pannell Fitzpatrick Trinidad (now Ernst & Young) and has accumulated close to 30 years experience as a Controller, CFO, CEO and Group Chairman of companies operating in the life and casualty insurance industries, hotel chain management, real estate development and investment management services sectors. His most recent appointment prior to forming his own consulting practice RVF Consulting, was as CEO of a Florida based management consulting company, responsible for overseeing the financial management of significant real estate development projects in Brickell Ave Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Osceola County, Florida.

Robert has spent most of his career as an executive in charge of the financial and strategic management of large business interests. He has also spent significant time advising Small and Medium Business owners on issues such as operational efficiency, financial management, strategic planning and solving business problems. He provides guidance to start-up companies to enable them to launch their businesses and operate successfully under competitive conditions. This is facilitated by Robert working closely with the business owner to ensure that every aspect of the business plan is properly conceptualized and thoroughly tested against high standards of management practice.

On a personal note:
Robert is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and has worked in South Florida for the past 7 years. He lives in the City of Weston with his wife Jacqueline, their son Jesse, and daughters Chloe and Caitlin. Robert is an avid saltwater fisherman and closely follows his son's soccer pursuits at both a college and international level.
